As a result of a PLC, any production process can be selected on the touch screen of the unit. The measurements of the pellet are based on the application in which the dry ice will be used. The wide range offered by Frigothermic also includes units for transport of dry ice. These units are especially designed for long distance transport. As a result of their high quality, the product reaches the destination at a controlled temperature and in optimum condition. The design of the units is a chest with the door opening on the upper part. No auxiliary power source is required and the finish is completely stainless steel.
Dry ice is the solid state of carbon dioxide (CO²), which is obtained by controlled reduction of the temperature and pressure. This process achieves dry ice at a temperature of –80˚C. The ice takes the form of a pellet or block when it is compacted..
Characteristics of dry ice:
By using specialized units for dry ice applications, small pellets are projected at high speed on the surface to be cleaned. The impact on the dirtiness makes it separate easily, preventing unproductive cleaning times due to disassembly of the equipment.
The effects caused by heat can seriously damage the product. With the pellets, the desired temperature is maintained while conserving the original flavour and colour.
During the wine harvest it is important to control all fermentation of the grapes before pressing. The grapes are covered with the pellets, maintaining optimum temperatures and the finest quality.
PHARMACEUTICAL AND CHEMISTRY INDUSTRY
Research centres use dry ice as a coolant in laboratory tests. It is also used for transport of vaccines, serum and samples.
In this sector, the pellet is used for cold contraction of parts. The cooling of the part makes it contract, so that it fits exactly until it is dilated again, obtaining a perfect result.
